Cliffs: Brandon Quick got his brown from a fake black belt in the army, Eddie Bravo accepted his knowledge of 10PJJ on face value without checking his lineage.

This is such a soap opera.
Wow...

This is priceless, some funny stuff is that a guy at my gym yesterday told me he uses Submissions 101 sometimes. And i told him the whole story! Now i can further refer him to this.

Man. How embarrassing...

I guess it's good that Eddie started a thread. Now it's time for damage control. Note to kids, "Don't lie. You will eventually get caught. Your integrity will forever be questioned."

It might start with the more indepth people of the BJJ world like the Grappling forum but it can start spreading eventually.
I don't think so. There are two types of Eddie Bravo students that I've come across.

Those that learn it as a guard and as a way to take advantage of a physical attribute they possess. They tend to be cool, higher belt levels and recognize it as a tool only.

Then there are those that study RG because it's counter culture. (Notice that in Eddie's post he uses the word "disciples"....creepy). These tend to be white belts and are generally complete douches.

This might hurt with with the first crowd, but gets him publicity and sympathy with the second crowd.

Well there probably are white belt's that aren't complete douches and are actually into the BJJ community for real so at least he will lose something. Still having a fake brown belt in your teacher arsenal won't do you any good no matter how you look at it.

True...and I'm sure there are some brain washed purple belts out there that are douches.

I'm speaking from my own experience here though...these are the types I've met and rolled with. Higher belted cool guys or white belt douches.

Yeah the white belt community varies alot from douches to cool guy's while higher level's seem to have cooler guy's. It kind feels like a rule that higher leveled guy seem to be "chiller" people even though I'm pretty sure there are some high level douches somewhere, Macaco for example. He's kind of a douche. Beat's on people for no reason.

From my experience I've rolled mostly with nice guy's on all level's. I've only met one douche but his girlfriend left him on the day so he was kind of pissed but later he was cool. Seems like more American that it is that way. I'm not saying anything bad or don't intend to offend anyone but I rarely encounter a douche in any martial art I've done (Judo, BJJ, Thai, and Boxing). There are those who come in with Badboy mentality and change and those who stay like that forever but those are rare IMO and attend gym's with a "reputation" for that of sorts.

Well if it ain't a legit instructor I don't know. But ain't he a 10th planet teacher? I meant it's different system for belt's right so an association can't exactly retrieve the belt's I think. Eddie Bravo probably won't diss the student's hard work. They will probably keep thier "shirts".
