trust me on this, walking into a tattoo shop and requesting a taz on any part of your body, unless you know the guy is a bad idea. you'll get a decent tattoo most likely, but the artist will think you're a tool. one of the most made fun of tattoos in the tattoo artists world.

on that note, i'm getting "don't leave the leg motherfucker." in portuguese along the side of my foot, as my bjj tattoo. it makes sense to a handfull of people.

No offense but I think getting anything written in a language you don't speak or understand is as corny as Kanji tats. But if you do speak portuguese fluently and are brazilian/portuguese than I apologize for assuming in the first place.

if he was smart he would have talked that over with the company and gotten a lot of money for it

it's an inside joke between me and handfull of people, one of which is my bjj instructor. now as far as my kanji, it's incoporated into the design that covers my scalp, so it's less obvious than if they were alone. i have no problem admitting that i have some tattoos typically considered cheesy but i know why i have them. i have a biomachanic squid sleeve on my right arm, and amongst other things a spade with "born to lose" written below it. hell i even have a heart with mother written in it.

as far as the taz thing, the one in the picture looks like decent work. i also don't think that it qualifies you as a "tool", and i'll explain why. maybe it will be considered an elitest thing, but whatever. there are tattoos you can get when you know the guys at the shop or know the artist that if you were to walk in off the street to get, they would secretly be rollling their eyes at you. some would even roll their eyes right in front of you as you describe what you want. case in point, i know an artist who would never do a taz on someone but tattooed a huge sacred chicken on a friend of mine.

if you get anything tattooed on you, be prepared for all kinds of bullshit, whether it's praise or scorn.
