Skin Conditions, Ringworm, warts, rashes..

I started grappling a year ago. I never ever had a single skin problem in my entire life. I am clean and have always been clean. I own 3 Gi's and wear them twice then wash them.

Since I started grappling in the last 12 months I have had ring worm twice, warts growing on my wrists, cuts that take unually long to heal and get red around them.,,ect ect,,,

WTF Gives man?

Is this sshit like colds where you eventually build up immunity to all this funk? I train hard and spar with 3-5 different people at least 3-4 times a week and have competed 3 times. I find it seriously gross that I am trading so much shitt with all these people...

Is this just part o the sport? I feel like its only a matter of time before I end up with some kind of weird herpes or MSRA or something....

Suggestions please...

dude, you dont wash your gis every time? your a sick bastard and that is why you are getting diseases. wash them every time, if not just for you but the poor people that you have to roll with. Let me guess, you also dont take a shower after rolling?

I hope this is a joke about the immunity to skin disease also

First of all, wash your gi. Second, wear a long sleeve rash guard underneath. Third, go to a clean gym. Sounds like they dont clean the mats too much at your place.

The mats are brand new, My gym has been around for 20 years and is cleaned and bleached, wearing a gi for one practice, hanging it to dry for three days then wearing for a second practice, then washing it is not dirty.

If you don't need to wash your gi after each session you aren't training hard enough.

Dude, wash your friggin' gi. Every time. Drying helps, but fungus can live on after it has dried. Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin.

Wash all your gear every time. Also, if you get ringworm/staph. Do not go into your gym until it is cleared up. Notify your school. They should then clean all the mats and gear again.

I've had staph twice at the place I go to. I live 40 min away, so I can't shower 'til I get home. I started bringing antiseptic wipes to class and wiping down after class. Then I shower once I get home. They also have some stuff to put on before class. I don't remember what it's called, but it looks like shaving cream.
