BJJ Legends?

I was just wondering 2 questions, the first being who are some BJJ legends (as in Rickson is a legend, who has his level of respect) and who helped develop the art (as in De La Riva and his open guard)?

you have people like roleta (roberto mahgalhaes) who invented a lot of stuff, like he's own guard, nino shembri did a lot for the sport as well, and these will always be considered as top personalities in BJJ, then you have mythical teachers that revolutionized the sport like Carlson gracie, Andre Pederneiras, Wendel Alexandre, Carlinhos jr. and Jacare Cavalcanti

I think Royce is a legend now, too.
Or more a fossile.

At least spell fossil right if you're going to bash Royce.

Rolls Gracie should be on a list of important BJJ people. Royler Gracie, Saulo Ribiero... Sergio Penha has a crazy story connected to him. The guy went strait from purple belt to black so he could face Rickson.

Don't forget Helio. Roberto Correa is another...although he's a lesser known name he revolutionized BJJ by developing the half-guard game.

Wow, I am starting to train in BJJ in the next coming week, and I see the person I'm going to learn from in a thread about legends. I'm pumpeed now.

I'm going to be learning from Saulo Ribeiro.

Saulo Ribeiro is an awesome instuctor you are going to be receiving some top notch instruction.

Maeda's jiu-jitsu wasn't BJJ so he doesn't really count.
