There is a BJJ basics DVD for sale on Submissions 101 for about $30, called Earthbound.

Gene Simco's is way too basic. It has a section on belt tying doesn't it?

Saulo's first series is decent for beginners I would think.

I like Bas's Bid DVD of combat. I also have Marecelo Garcia's DVD. It's pretty good.

But like GodsDevil said, it's best to take a class. Supplement the class by watching the DVDs.

Seconded. I'd highly recommend Submissions 101 : Got Jiu Jitsu?. go to their free videos section.. they've got everything. for free. awesome instruction too and they're doin it right. They've taught me quite a bit haha. Of course, there's nothin like actually doin it.

Gotta love Sherdog and some of the idiots around here.... You don't believe I'm going to a gym? oh, well, I think I can live with that...

For the rest of guys, thanks a lot for the suggestions, Submissions 101 looks great. I've done Muay Thai and Kickboxing for 3 years now but recently added Jui jitsu to my training and some times I feel the pace of the classes go a bit too fast for me. I just want to go back home and review some of the stuff I've learned, practice them and make sure I got them right.

Thanks!
