Did he lose on purpose? or was he really struggling? I don't see why losing on purpose would be a nice gesture, that's like giving him pity and sympathy.

Competition isn't always about winning or losing. I would imagine just the expierience alone for the guy was worth it. I'm sure he knew the tap was a sign of respect. Which he deserved for getting out there and training with such a handicap.

i think its really cool. the guy has balls to go out there and should be respected. as a side note, how can you give the guy points for getting in hooks? like i dont think he can flatten someone out or anything with his legs; think just getting them as deep as possible is worthy of the points?
