Applying the Triangle

Right before wrestling practice today, my coach was showing a pin in my guard (i know its a little weird for wrestling but after my takedowns i scramble and have recently been ending up in guard). after he showed the move I jokingly put in a deep triangle, but didnt squeeze very hard.

he felt the triangle and proceeded to press his finger very hard onto the area between my front and back (gooch). As soon as he did this I gasped for air (weird reaction, but apprently this is common) and i released the triangle.

Is this illegal in mma? in grappling? its not technically a groin shot, it hurts like hell, and i dont care who you are, you are not holding onto that triangle when that is done to you.

Is there any way to defend against this? why isnt it utilized?

I don't know but you should immediately report your coach to the police.

You're not allowed to mess with orifices of any kind, so it's illegal. And really disgusting.

I guarantee you if he tried that on someone with decent MMA experience in an MMA fight he would eat fists or go to sleep. That same bullshit with pressure points, my buddy's friend is a TMA instructor and he always tells me about how he always uses pressure points to get out of situations.

After a few months of him doing it, he simply got used to it and it wasn't nearly as effective. Taking the time to stick a finger in a specific spot leaves you open for some massive ass whooping.

its a pressure point that wouldnt work in a real fight b.c of adrnaline. Since u werent in a fight u didnt have adrenaline so it worked. Same thing with elbows to the thighs when u get mounted, in practice it works, but it fights it doesnt
