Been going almost a year, never seen a white belt teach a class. By lesser rank, I believe he means blue belts in regards to the beginners classes.
As to the instructor's page... I gotta agree.

Hi Simco,
We had a purple belt instructor teaching the 7am class in question, but she needed to end her teaching of that particular class, so we transitioned to another instructor. We felt it far better to keep the class open, along with the open training opportunities, than it would be to cancel the class outright. The class in question takes place on Thursday in Old Town Alexandria, at 7am.
Our third school opened in Takoma Park, MD several months ago. I do not teach there, nor do I run the facility. I own the Loudoun and Alexandria schools; one of my students, Jay Ferrari, who has been with me for 7 years, asked to open the Takoma location. Jay is a tremendous instructor and amazing human being, and I highly recommend taking classes with him if you ever visit the Washington DC area.
We used to put up information about all of our instructors, but the paged became complicated and unwieldy. So, we now feature pictures of instructors in action, and made this page (three layers deep in our web site) more of a montage, rather than a defined list.
That being said, I really do appreciate your opinion. We have a vision, but if we are not achieving that then we do want to know. We make regular efforts to improve our classes, our facilities and our web presence.

Oh, and this class is taught with the gi. We are not hiding the fact that this class is currently being taught by a 4 stripe white belt.

I'm with 5050 as it suits my schedule perfectly and I am happy with my instructors/location/and fellow students.

lloyd irvin doesn't have a contract so i'd check that out if your not willing to commit to a year at 50/50, plus mike fowler is back and teaching a lot of the classes and he is really good

Mike Easton will likely make it into the WEC (my guess, hope he does.)

I didnt say he's not good...dont get me wrong.
mike fowler hasnt done any damage at black imo though. but thats also due to his training. now that he is back at lloyd's main gym training full time, I expect him to make some waves.

yeah, true dat, Fowler's damage has been in the Federation tournaments in like Asia. The Europe and Asia federation events are a lot less competitive than the worlds/Pan Ams. Now that he is back at Lloyd's, he said it's his goal to win at the World's. He's a likable dude. No matter what, the dude's always smiling and havin a good time.

Well first off, the local Lloyd Irvin affiliate in Arlington DOES have contracts (as many of the people who switched from TLI to 50/50 found out). I am pretty sure that pretty much every major gym in the area uses contracts, and for good reason. I don't know about contracts at the Camp Springs TLI HQ, but I do know that it's quite a hike from Arlington and Skyline (Falls Church) and probably wouldn't be a consideration for most people who work normal business hours in this area.
