Anyone train at Capital Jiu Jitsu or 5050BJJ I have a question
I am in the process of choosing another school as the one I currently go to does not fit my work schedule. My two choices are Capital Jiu Jitsu (Royce Gracie affiliate) and the other 5050BJJ (Ryan Hall affiliate). Who here trains at either of these 2 schools and what do you like about them? Capital has an awesome schedule of 7-8 am everyday which sounds good as I can train early in the day, but that means I have to shift my work schedule from 7:30 am to to start at 8:30 am just so i can drive from the school to my office. But if i train at 5050BJJ then its Tues, Thurs, and Fri at 1 1/2 hours (10:30 am to 12 pm)and i don't have to switch my work schedule I pretty much have to take an earlier lunch during those days.
All schedule aside who here trains there and how do you like it?

If I had to choose between those two I would choose 5050 and I am not knocking capital, I have never taken a class there, but I have met Ryan and he is an awesome guy and a great teacher.

you can't lose with either. i used to train at capital. its a cool place, very organized and expanding. 50/50, while ive never been there, i have trained with alot of folks who go there now. you are sure to get pretty good instruction from both.

Try out both to see where you feel you fit in better.
But I would definitely go to 50/50 over capital. 100%. Imo they have better instruction and more competitive students, which is what I would be looking for.
If you are looking for more "Gracie" style bjj, with self defense stuff and a slower rolling environment, go to Capital. If you are looking to do bjj just for fun, or to compete, and you like a challenge, go to 50/50.

Can I ask why you didn't consider Lloyd Irvin's school? I'm torn on whether to go there or 50/50 if I get the chance to spend a summer in D.C. But I'm curious as to why you aren't considering it.

Any idea who is teaching at lloyd's arlington location? It used to be ryan, I wonder who he sent there now to replace him.

I could check Lloyd's website and see, but I don't recall it being someone I've heard of (as if I've heard of many people though)
I'm hoping to hear some info as to why someone would consider DC area schools but not consider Lloyd's. His curriculum style approach makes me think that's how people seem to do so well under him. Weighing out him vs. Ryan's place. We'll see what info comes...
