I am 21 and I have a bad wrist, shoulder, ankles and my knee is starting to bum out too. You just got to rest. Go light till you heal up. Nagging injuries suck but you just have to deal.

I hear ya on being young w/ bad joints. Knees and wrists both are prone to injuries. Take a consistent amount of anti-inflammatories on a consistent schedule w/ wrest and ice and that usually speeds up the healing process a ton.

I had a problem when I was doing some kickboxing where I couldn't train as I'd get a crazy migraine in the left side of my head after doing like 15-20 pushups. Turns out after an MRI and other scans, it was a pinched nerve in my shoulder from a car accident a month before causing all the pain. It healed over about 6 months and no longer have any trouble w/ it.

Just get a checkup and eliminate doubt. After that check your diet, if it is in order then back off so much training for a month and see how your body responds.

1. Glucosamine+Chondroitin+MSM by "Flex-a-min" - 3 daily
2. MSM - 500mg - 4 daily (yes, even with #1) you can take plenty of MSM.
3. Hyaluronic Acid 20MG - 4 daily
4. Flaxseed Oil - 3 daily
5. Calcium Citrate 300mg - 3 daily (no more than 3 daily unless you want kidney stones)

Taking these 5 suppliments via doctor's advice has enabled me to come back from shoulder and wrist arthritis. If taken daily without exception, you will see a difference in 4 weeks. Everybody training in bjj should begin taking these suppliments if you want to help avoid joint and arthritis down the road.

I'm now back into bjj after being away 8 years with nearly 0 complications.

Drink plenty of water.
Warm-up thoroughly - stretching does less to prevent injury before training than a good warm-up
Tape whatever is weak if you can until the pain abates.
Work around your injuries if you have to.
Weight train to strengthen joints/connective tissue.
Make sure you are using CORRECT TECHNIQUE and not just powering though
REST enough to give your body time to recuperate
