That's interesting. Aggression was never my problem, but being relaxed, fluid, and observant was. I was always tense and very aggressive, and I would burn out my cardio or miss positions or opportunities.

When I learned to relax, stop and see position, and be more fluid and less tense, my game improved exponentially. I did sacrifice a little bit of aggression for it, but I am a much better grappler now.

I hadn't read this thread before, must have missed it. This is similar advice you gave me when i uploaded videos of myself rolling, basically i was being too passive and letting the other guy dictate the pace, so instead of establishing a top position he would easily push me over and pass my guard, i defended subs ok, but he was the one attacking... I have on occassion increased my intensity to be no the offense but sometimes i still forget and fall back to defend, defend, defend... It is hard to keep focused, guess i will have to work on it some more

great info!!! I posted my first class thread last week, and asked for advice on not getting so exhausted. Everyone had great advise as does this thread.This thread also goes into much greater detail. Thanks
