Was that outright or in the brown belt division?
That's some pretty impressive feats, especially for someone from your part of the world.

I dunno. I copied and pasted from the ADCC website bro. I'll ask him next week though, I'm gonna go train at his place.
I think it was the west coast that he won. Some of the matches are on youtube. He got a triangle, an armbar, and two 50/50 (reverse) heelhooks. I know he's training with some great wrestlers now and is working a lot more on takedowns as opposed to just pulling guard. I actualy think it could be him and Leo or Rani in the finals. It will be a great division to watch.
Anyon think this is Marcelo's year for the Absolute? He's almost tasted it twice (well three) now. He's gotten sooo close.

I wouldn't be against her that's for sure but how is her no gi game? I watched her roll through the Mundials but she uses that crushing, controlling type game where I think the gi really helps her? Will Kyra fare better against her with fewer grips? Wow, am I actually excited for the womens brackets?!

Hmm, is Roger in the Absolute? No you say, he's in the Superfight? Well, then, Marcelo has a chance. LOL
Actually I think it will be hard for him. Xande, Werdum, Galvao. All of those guys have a shot along with Marcelo. Should be interesting.

I hope this will be a good stepping stone to bring Arona back to high level MMA.
This really should be televised

Yeah I saw he was competing in MMA too.
With him in Phil Davis getting into MMA the 205lb wieghtclass just got a couple of real wrestling studs.
If people were impressed by Jon Jones wrestling these 2 guys I think are on a different level of wrestling. Maybe not as flashy but but these guys are true studs.
But then again Rosholt is a 3 timer and has had mixed results so far.

Sorry, I should have clarified. He won those in the brown belt division.
He did however take gold in the Expert no-gi middleweight division of the North American Grappling Championships, beating Jorge Patino on points in the final match, and took silver in the Gi Expert class, losing on points to Dan Simmler. Gunnar has been giving as good as he gets against black belts for some time now, and despite only having had the brown for about a year, many people think he should be promoted. If he doesn't bomb out of ADCC, which I don't think is going to happen, I expect he will.
His no-gi game is actually better than his gi game(or at least it used to be, the kid is a learning machine but has only really been focussing on the gi for the last year or so), so I expect him to be able to hang, or at least not get steamrolled at ADCC. He is fighting one weight class above his optimal though, because -77 was full, so I´m not expecting him to medal(though I hope so!) against such tough competition.
I know that my opinion is sort of biased since he's my countryman and all, but I honestly believe that Gunnar Nelson will be a name a whole lot of people will be talking about in a year or two from now - both in grappling and MMA. The work ethic and dedication of this kid is unbelievable. He's a grappling natural for sure(nobody gets a brown in three years or so without being a natural), but unlike many naturals, he takes nothing for granted, never slacks, always works harder than anyone else in the room, and then comes back for second helpings.
