I thought guys who had already won it couldn't compete except in a superfight?

I'm pretty suprised the UFC let Maia compete.

Have Galvao and Maia ever fough before?

That's her. She trains all over the place, I think she has a BJ Penn (money) type deal going on.

Also, I can't see Rani losing. He's just so slick. Anything could happen, but I'm betting on Rani to win. Also hoping to see a Maia v. Galvao clash, although what I'd really love to see is a Maia vs. Garcia rematch. Too bad it won't happen.

That's why Roger and Drysdale are the superfight because they won the Absolute in 05 and 07 respectively.

If you're refferng to Marcelo, he never won the Absolute, but he did win hs weight categori in 03, 05, and 07. He won most technical fighter in 03 and 07 as well.

And Fedor is NOT in. I don't think Mousasi is either.

Thanks for the post Drew but just pointing out in those brackets the East coast trials winners and West Coast trials winners are flip-flopped. (ex. Chris Weidman is an east coast trials winner, and Hall is a west coast trials winner)

Ryan Hall is in the same bracket with Rani AND Rafael Mendes. I don't think he can get through both of them. And if Cobrinha DOES decide to enter that will be his bracket as well I think.

You can't forget that Leo Vieira is competing also. Hence the open slots.

I'm sure they have plenty of times. They were teammates on Brasa. So much great battles going on in-house.
