imo it wouldn't be any easier to organize people if they were all wearing the same things...

This is nothing new that you have to wear this uniform for thier No-Gi events. Its just new that they dont provide it for you anymore. The first time they went to this uniform was a few years ago at the Pan Am's when they held the No-Gi the first day and Gi the 2nd day. That year they gave you both the color rash guard and a pair of board shorts. After that they went to making you wear your own black shorts and providing the colored rash guard. Now they have stop providing the rash guard (for money purposes im sure since now they keep all the entry fee) and make you bring your own. I dont like it because you dont get the rash guard that they give out and those for me were keepsakes. I have 3 of them and they labeled each one with what event it was. I used 2 of them in shadow boxes and was hoping to do the same in the future but oh well.

So what, I need to wear a (fake) blue or purple belt to compete against people my skill level then wear a blue or purple rashguard to face people my skill level? Its stupid. I sort of understand the purpose of just breaking it down and keeping it simple, but at the same time I think its stupid.
I don't believe the divisions were designed for people like you who want to compete up to a division they feel more competative. It's for the people who are blue belts who try to do beginner, and the high level purple who tries to do intermediate. This way there's no arguement on what division you should be in. Your a purple, compete in purple division. Not you've been grappling 6 years and your a blue. you have to compete in advanced.

I'm not saying I agree with it. but I understand that portion of it.

As far as the dress code. I say it should be given like they give t-shirts at worlds and they have done in the past years.

This is a horrible argument. So a 35% mark up is "nothing"? So if you spend $20K for a car than it's perfectly acceptable to FORCE you to spend another $7K on seat covers?

Really? You don't think it would be easier to separate all the blue belts from the purple belts if they were actually wearing blue and purple shirts? As opposed to them all wearing the same color shirt or, even worse, different color shirts?

Good thing i did a search and it actually worked.

Anyhow my question regarding this subject is where can I find a purple rashguard that doesn't look nearly as ghey as the ones that are shown, and are there any other no gi tourneys coming up on the west coast that doesn't have lame uniform requirements?

to the people saying it's bullshit. Do youfeel that it's bullshit that you have a specific color belt on during gi competitions?
