scared to lose

i think that it is a universal phenomenon that instructors don't roll with their students that often.

so im wondering if you think that is because they are scared to lose against their lower students?

I don't think it is a universal phenomenon. my instructors always rolled with everybody, except one guy because he had a severe spine problem and was under doctors orders.

I think some of them might not roll because the class doesn't have many graduates (good blues, purples and browns) and rolling with white belts all the time can be very boring.

They do get tapped once in a while, happenes to everybody. If you are a graduate and you roll with 5 or 6 guys in a class, it might happen that you get tapped (usually due to fatigue) not a biggy, every one is human..

I don't know how common it is or isn't but I can say for sure it's not universal. Our instructors roll with everyone all the time. Whoever is not actually teaching the class is rolling, and if there are odd numbers even the teacher will roll.

my black belt instructor rolls with us every single day. How else will he train?

He rolls with the higher belts and more advanced students more and with the white belts and lower blues less.

If he doesn't roll with us who else will he roll with?

I know what you are saying though. I have seen several schools where once the instructor gets his black belt he basically stops rolling with his students. His students never even get to see him roll. I think thats ridiculous and a ripoff to the students.

yeah, i'm gonna go ahead and say what everyone else here is thinking: you have absolutely no idea what you're babbling about.

either your instructor is injured, can't hack it, or thinks you're a big spazzy d-bag.

fail.

Instructors also teach EVERY class, and tend to be older. If they rolled every single class every day of the week their bodies would be crippled. If you teach a full schedule, you have to pick your rolling carefully ... you can't be battling it out each class.
