i don't use them in grappling but i could see it being helpful in adding traction when attempting triangle chokes or body triangles and maybe even when putting the hooks in when you have the guy's back. take it easy on the BJJ guys cali_chute_boxe

My understanding is that ankle supports provide more protection by keeping your ankle (and all of the misc. bones and other stuff) warm thus less prone to injury. The actual support given is minimal. Think about it, the things are a soft, flexible material, that's not going to support much.

I use them to stop the 'slap' like effect if I miss and hit with my foot, lol.
