Icon2 Training of Ricky "The Hitman" Hatton:

Now THIS is a guy some of you MMA practitioners can learn from because he uses the scientific approach to brawling and getting close to the opponent. Ricky likes to fight in a phone booth, forehead-to-forehead, with lots of clinching and wrestling around. So take some notes:

Mitt and body-vest work:

Explaining some theory to Friday Night Fights' Brian Kenney (who knows how to Box himself):

Heavybag work:

Couple of highlight reels for those who haven't seen much of his style in the ring:

Watching Hatton throw that left body shot is just sickening. I remember there was some rather poor boxing reality tv show over here and Hatton turned up as a guest coach, he was going over footwork and set ups for his body punches, amazing to watch.

That was awesome, he gives some very simple but very imformative tips there. Kostya Tszyu is the one guy i look up to more than anyone else. It took me a little while to forgive Hatton for what he did to Kostya, but i relised that it takes a special kind of guy to do what he did to Kostya, he is now a person i hold in high regard, not just for the way he fights but the way he carries himself as a fighter. I still havent got the nerve to rewatch that Hatton/Tszyu fight, it really was a great epic fight but its kinda hard to watch your hero get bashed for ten odd rounds.

I remember watching him on Friday Night Fights give that advice to throw a jab at the end of a combo. It was some pretty cool advice.

Don't know if it would add much to Kabuki's input but Hatton recently broke down his training regime week by week leading up to a fight in a copy of Zoo Magazine. I could scan those pages in if people are interested.

I'll see if I can dig the magazine up, it's a couple of months old but I'll have a look for it and scan it all in tomorrow.
