Icon2 Training of Joan Guzman:

I'm sure a lot of you have never heard of this guy but he's probably one of Pacquiao's biggest threat at 130. Kid's a machine, they also call him "El pequeno tyson"...the little Tyson. lol

For those who have never seen him fight, a nice little HL:

Sorry, I think Barrera is his biggest threat in a rematch at the moment

no i really think Barrera would win if they fight again

sorry for your thoughts, because marquez would murder pacquiao, if he and freddy roach stop running from him. i say this because pacquiao will fight fighters in 2nd and 3rd fights he already won against, but to the man pacquiao never beat only got a draw from will not fight.... gotta make you wonder.

lol@ both of you.

JMM and Barrera are both scared shitless of Pacquiao. Barrera wouldn't even say the dude's name for years after they fought, and JMM has passed up every chance for a re-match.

barrera has to fight pac, he really has no options as far as money or importance; he keep fighting 2nd/3rd tier opp, an catches alot of criticism and loses the support of his fanbase and as a result gets poor ppv/hbo numbers.

if there was someone else for marco to fight he would, as good as he is he is on the downside of his career and is no longer trying to est his legacy or prove he is the VERY best like he did in his earlier years.

pacman is big/strong/exp/hard hitting/aggressive and busy-all things that can pose alot of problems to guys like mab who at this stage FIGHT in spots and box for the rest of the time.

jmm salvaged a draw but was damn near killed in the 1st few rounds, as good as he is pacman poses the same probs for him that he does for mab; i have rarely seen a world class guy be just beaten from pillar to post like that..

pacman can and will beat both these guys- guzman presents probs for pacman because he has similiar phy ability, w/out the power... an he has the def acumen to support it.. jmm/ mab have the tech ability/exp; but they don't have the mobility/timing/fluidity that guzman does... which might give issues to pacman who focuses on overwhelming outworking and running over opp.

guzman's def/physical skills might be enought to frustrate manny; but his lack of power will hurt him in beating pacman....

i am a big fan of guzman; i tend to think he is not the puncher he was at a lower weight, he has the def/counter skills which will make him a threat to any guy at that or any other weightclass.

but his lack of power is gonna be a concern against the more durable and phys gifted fighters offensively.....

he has had the power adv, been able to pot shot and pick shots cus of his power; i think as he faces better comp he will have to be busier and sharper on def to make up for his power..

he hit barrios clean and often and hard and really was nowhere near putting him away

awesome find KK

i've seen this guy fight earlier this year and was quite impressed. i didn't know his name and just refered to him as the dude with the dreads.

it's cool watching how pro's train...i'm interested now in the way his trainer held mitts for him. i noticed that when boxers use that philly shell that some trainers hold the mitts in a different fashion. i've seen 2 trainers at my gym do this as well. i think i'm going to ask them to hold mitts for me

btw i'd love to see Pac and Guzman get it on. both are young and dangerous and i know it would be a great fight

I'll bet that his trainer could catch anyone's punches, lol.

He's fast, I marvel at these top notch guys and their handspeed.

I like Guzmans speed a lot, but although he has some chance I really don't see him as much of a threat to Pacman. Manny is just as fast, more power and more durable and has more experience against real top level opponents. Manny by mid round stoppage.
