Problem with Toney is he'll pass out from fear is you say the word "cardio" around him.

LOL, nice. I think I recall a fight where somebody was saying something about him having an eating disorder. Anybody know anything about this? Something about how he couldn't stop eating. Whenever he saw food, he HAD to eat it or something.

you must not know much about boxing or atleast not much about james toney, becuase if you did you would know that toney is probably one of the most talented technichians of his era. he has no problem going 12 rds and he does it often, his style suits his cardio capacity, find me another boxer who will stand right in front of you for 12 rds and never get hit with a clean punch. he is a wizard. a fat wizard yes, but a wizard none the less.

KK didn't say he wasn't a masterful technician, which he surely is, but what he did say was something you alluded to in your post, too - that he was a fatty. His gas tank is a problem for him. He's the only boxer I've seen that has been huffing and puffing and taking considerable down-time during a public padwork session. He can go 12 rounds, sure, but it's all relative, and at this stage in his career, he is NOT a guy known for his stamina.

He'll stand right in front of you, because if he moves for longer than a minute straight he'll gas.
Toney is through, and he's pretty much wasted most of his talent. The dream is over, welcome to reality.

A 1st Ballot Hall Of Famer And One Of The Best Overall Technicians An Defensive Fighters In Boxing History...
Not A Complete Waste; Sure He Could Have Done More, But Its Not Like He Was Too Bad To Start W/
An My Knowledge Of Toney Was That His Idea Of Conditioning And Training Was Just Going Rounds (boxing)- Think A Lack Of Discipline And Alot Of Gym Wars Really Cut Him Short...
Detroit Fighters Are Known For Gym Wars And That Can Effect U Adversley In Regards To How Long U Fight And At What Level....

anyone that has fought 80 fights is probably done. in this era that many fights is unheard of. how did he waste his talent.
my point was someone brought up cardio being his weak point, but he goes 12 rds easy consistently. hes a fat ass and his bones are meant for a 160 pounder. hes fighting guys 260. and working them over.
