Icon4 Starting stand up, need help please

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what I should take for my first stand-up martial art, I've been looking through the forums and am not sure what to try. I researched a couple places around here (northeast ohio) and I found Victory Asian Arts, they advertise tae kwon do, is that a good style to start with? And if anyone knows if that is a good school or not would be helpful because I can't find anything else about them. Also I'm 6'1 170 pounds, and I lift 3 days a week, I dont know if that affects anything or not lol. If anyone could suggest a style and a good place around here to train I would appreciate it alot, I have no experience with any martial arts other than wrestling.

jiu-jitsu is not a stand-up style. Look for a boxing or muay thai place

Oops lol I didn't mean jiu-jitsu idk why I put that. I meant tae kwon do xD. I changed the first post now. But I can't find any muay thai places closer than 2 hours away which isn't really practical and no boxing places as far as I can tell at all. Thanks though.

The boxing places will be in the ghetto and may or may not have a website or be in the yellow pages. See if there's a police athletic league in your city, they usually have good boxing programs.

Canton, I can't find a police athletic league but I found a "shaolin boxing academy" about a half hour away, but I'm pretty sure thats not regular boxing.
