Sparing everyday?

How many of your guys' gyms do this? My instructor was basically pissed that no one ever showed up to sparring so he made every class sparring. Which sucks because now I have a buised rib and my knee is fucked after my leg got swept. Every week I get some stupid little injury that prevents me from training. Is this type of class normal?

Im sparring almost every day of training right now, because I have fights scheduled. If I didnt, it would be less.

Ive heard mixed ideas about this....
I see no problem with going everday if you mix it up well with like 50% to 100% days...

When it comes down to it you have to have time to recover...or basically, its a wasted session.

Do you do straight boxing though? I had a few years of boxing training spread out over time and boxing gyms spar a hell of alot more than other martial arts in my experience.

I spar one day a week, Friday. Unfortunatly, karate and mma sparring fall on the same day. I would perfer to spar twice a week though.

I do Thai Boxing and it seems I was moved from the intermidiate to the advanced part of the class. I was basically passed around like a rag doll to the guys that weren't good enough to make the professional team the first time around.

People who spar everyday are mixing it up between a few 100%, some 80% matches, mostly 50% power but 80% speed sessions, and also a lot of light gearless sparring to emphasize technique and body positioning

For example check out Anderson Silva light sparring YouTube - Anderson Silva UFC MW Champion with Kru Nestor

You intructor is irresponsible for sparring all the time at injury inducing pace! Everyone needs to slow things down in order to do a breakdown and analysis

How is my instructor responsible for how hard the advanced guys go?
