Icon2 Some training of Don "The Dragon" Wilson:

I wanted to create a highlight video of him but finding footage is so tough. So I figured this would suffice. Youtube has a clip I been looking for forever, and I have the clip where he knocked out Cikatic.

Enjoy:

Unfortunately the Cikatic clip has no sound:

I'm not sure if you're kidding here...but Don Wilson is 52 and past his prime. In his day he had a stellar career, and did something very few Western kickboxers had the stones to do: travel to Thailand and fight under their rules. He's a highly-respected fighter with nothing left to prove who made a pile of cash in chop-socky movies and is in a nice comfy retirement.

Nice vid as always, KK. Watching the first one reminded why I like the lead-leg sidekick so damned much. Also reminded me that the guy I sometimes tend to associate too easily with straight-to-video/straight-to-cable B-movies had some serious skills in his day; it's amazing how much power he seems to generate with so little effort.

Damn he looks like hes 42. Anyway I thought he did pretty well against Cooper for a guy with an old-school karate-based kickboxing style. Why coldnt he compete in MMA? He doesnt have to be a force but he could do it once just to say he did it.

He's always looked a bit young-ish.

Well, I believe some guys around his age have competed in MMA...though not for long, and they got tooled when they did. I could of course be wrong, but a guy with Wilsons' tenacity and heart wouldn't enter MMA under the idea that he just wanted to have a go at it just so he could say it he did while being unconcerned with the results.

Good vids. I happened to catch ISKA strikeforce kickboxing on the other night. If you guys want to see an absolute master of full contact style, check out Brian Schwartz. The guy is so unbelievably slick, puts together real nice hand combos, foot combos, hand and feet, real nice footwork and boxing. Real badass lead leg sidekick that just destroyed this dude.
