I've been looking for something like this.

Thanks alot man. You are a great contributor to these boards. It things like that that remind me why I come here.

Drill #1 looksl ike Mogul Skiing, and #5 reminds me of a savate/jkd shuffle kick.

How often and for how long do you practice just footwork?

Cpcyba!!

Hey K, I really like these. Much thanks. I especially thought the lunge --> shuffle kick drill was worthwhile.

It's good for warm up, I don't do just the footwork drills very often and then only because of the plyometric part for conditioning, I have this natural gift that I can coordinate my feet very well without practicing it any time someone shows my any footwork drill I perform it as if I never did any thing else in my life. but I still like to develop drills to test my abbilities. I have also some drills that are very coordinationaly demanding but look simple. The drill #5 is the killer, that version of it was the easiest, you can also kick a target while performing and even tougher is moving forward and not staying in place. #6 is actualy the modern evading/back movement technique for tkd.

So are you just supposed to alternate between these drills for a little while? How long should one perform each drill before moving on to the next?

Great drills! One thing that i would have suggest for anyone that is trying to improve their footwork is, relax your body (even the upper body). Tensing only weighs you down and make you hesitate.

Kyryllo did make it look easy because, like any good taekwondo athlete, he has great explosivness in his calfs and that comes from working the fast twitch muscles.

Some easy ways of doing improving your footwork and speed are:
-stepping and bouncing at every workout
-calf raises
-(my favorite) running drills on stairs such as quick steps, long steps, knee ups, and (the most painful) squatting down the bouncing up every stair in that position!
