So how long are you supposed to train for?
Ive been boxing for like five months now and like I just came to this new gym a month ago. They have a peice of paper up that says the workout. Three rounds skipping shadow boxing, punching bags, one round of speed bag and double end. Now I follow this but I end up finishing the workout pretty quick less than an hour. There's also pad work but yeah, I don't want to overtrain or anything but are the workouts supposed to be so quick?
How long would I have to train a day if I go three times a week to be prepared as an ammy boxer

Have you done any sparring?
I would ask your coach this question. He would know better than anyone here since we don't know your skill level, etc.

Do four rounds of skipping and shadowboxing, through the breaks. Do three to four rounds of bagwork (on days you're not sparring) then follow with four or five rounds of pads, if available (and if it's not, then you should seriously consider joining another gym) then finish with a few rounds of speed ball and double end.
When you do spar, cut out the bagwork and replace it with as many rounds of sparring as you can. That is your basic boxing workout, to be done 3 to 4 times a week.

No pads and no sparring? You might as well be training at home. Find another place, man.

I'm just starting this gym guys, so they're teaching me new stuff, right now their focusing on the guys fighting, the main coach went to England for a bit. There is sparring but I havnt started yet, I always do pad work though and end up doubling the workout on paper. Judging from how you guys think the workout is weak I'm thinking it's just up their for people who have no idea what there doing. That being said how long is it preferred if ur working at a good pace?
