Questions about Phuket

I'm heading to Phuket for a month to train at Tiger Muay Thai and have a few questions I was hoping you guys could help me with. This is going to be my first trip to Thailand.

1. What accomodations would you recommend around Chalong and should I book it ahead of time or wait until I get there? I'm thinking either the Tropical or Bang Nuy Bungalows.

2. Is there a place in Phuket to buy gear cheaper than at the gym? Twins, Windy, Boon, etc.

3. Is there anything you'd recommend I do or don't do when I'm there?

4. Has anyone gone scuba diving while there?

Thanks in advance guy and gals. I did a few searches and couldn't find the answers I was looking for.

I'm in Phuket right now.

Wait until you get there to look for your room.

All of the equipment is over priced in Phuket. Boon only sells out of their shop in BKK, I went there and their price are 20% cheaper than the prices in Phuket.

Do see the sights and don't be a walking ATM for the bar girls.

*deleted post* O nm, I just remember your post here Heavy Bag

Sinbi huh?

I wanted to ask you about the duration you mentioned in that thread. You mentioned 5 weeks - I can only take around 6 weeks off work and was concerned I won't be getting that much. But then I know exactly what I want to work on - clinchwork and bodykick

Wanted to get your opinion about what you can get out of just 5-6 weeks

Good to know! I'm hoping to go to Bangkok for a weekend while their and I'll have to check it out. Is it better to stay at 1 gym the whole time so they can learn your weaknesses and help you improve or is it better to break it up and try different camps to get more exposure?

As far as the bargirls go, i have one weakness and it's an addiction women. i better stay up at the camp so I don't go broke. Ahh hell, screw that, you only live once!! haha

Thanks man!!
