Honestly... I don't really understand like many have said before, what was the purpose of this sparring besides who can hit the hardest. There isn't any head movement or active defense (slipping, parrying). MG has sweet hand speed but yeah, I guess it was a good and fun session and that's it.

To me it looked like Melvin was swinging for a knockout and after awhile Huerta realized it (got a little annoyed) and just stood there taking punches as if to say "you cant hurt me."

some might say that is that typical latino style of fighting, MACHO; you don't run and pick away at an opp, u stay in there show them they can't hurt u and then beat them the f*ck up...

Immature to be critical? this is a forum not a circle jerk. Did you even watch the video? that was really cool how that one 'stud' liked to block punches with his face for practice. But yeah we cant be critical of anything we see on youtube. Of course everyone we see on TV is flawless in every martial art.
Stop posting idiot.

Studs? They are MMA fighters and in this particular clip they were boxing. They arent boxers and from the looks of this clip they werent very good. Guillard showed great handspeed but he got hit way too much and Huerta looked awful. He was getting tagged, he was leaving his chin out etc. They did not show great or even good boxing technique. As a result were being critical of their boxing. Nobody is saying we can go in there and KO these guys into the 4th row. But there is absolutely no problem with outlining some of their flaws in a STANDUP forum.

Stop being such a baby.

bingo

they taped it and let it be posted, therefore sub to criticism; an reading MOST responses, people know what they are speaking of and being polite, but honest about the sub par boxing...which it is. They are mma fighters after all.

secondly everyone criticizes sh(t they don't do, whether ur talking about a teacher, parent, singer, rapper, actor, athlete; most of us haven't done what they do, an yet we comment about how crappy a job they are doing when we have no exp doing that job....

it is what it is

as long as its not abusive, an has some relevance/intelligence then it should be allowed; an for people who don't know striking and think that is good, people here can tell them yes or no and explain why it is or isnt and that will help boxing/mma cus now u have more educated fans

Alot of interesting points posted above. Since we do not know what the purpose of the session was about it is hard to truely criticise. Sometimes we spar really hard to remind a person what it is like to be in a fight. Sometimes we work on certain drills.

If you post a video you are open to peoples comments. I have videos of some of my fights and I have one on Youtube of me getting my ass kicked. I have not posted it here because of how many people will tear it up.

Er, that's actually what fans pay money to do Sir. And any Professional Fighter should be aware of that.
