Private Lessons

I'm in a very fortunate position. I have an arrangment with my Instructor. Basically there is something i do for him related to my profession and i get free training for all classes plus a free private lesson a week. The classes are always great but i get so much out of the private lesson each week. It's all the little tips, the analysis of what i am doing right and wrong which just can't take place in a group class situation to the same degree.

Who here has private lessons ? i know money would be the limiting factor for most people.

Out of interest, whether you take them or not, if your instructor does offer private lessons, how much does he/her charge per hour ?

My instructor would normally charge $45Aus (around $30US) per hour which is very reasonable

That's pretty damn cheap for private lessons. At my gym private lessons are 100 dollars an HOUR. No way I can afford that.

I've thought about getting private lessons in BJJ a once or twice a month to add to my Sambo training. I'm just really stacked for time and can't make it to the group classes. But $100 an hour is pretty damn steep.

And even though I could probably afford it I can't shake the thought of, "If I put that money in a college fund for the baby every month and let it grow..."

So I always talk myself out of it.

privates around here run $100-150 per hour

i used to train at this really good gym in the day because a lot of times there were only 2-5students. many times just 2-3 so that was semi private which i got a lot out of.
