Well i have played ping pong or table tennis as i know it for a good few years to a high standard and so i suppose my reflexes might be classed as quite good but when it comes to stand up its a different kind of reflex i find.
By that i mean, when you've played table tennis for a while you can instinctively make an educated guess on where the ball is going before you hit your shot to the opponent. For example I could be in a rally with an opponent and depending on how i am going to hit my shot i will know the likelyhood of where the ball will come back. SO i hit the ball to A i know that my opponent being faced with my shot will hit it back to B so i can anticipate but i dont think reflexes are as important as it is made out to be.
That being said, maybe i just dont know if my reflexes are better than average, though i dont think my reflexes are any good in a standup sense, i still dont see some punches coming and get caught a lot at the minute, having never done sparring before until a few months ago i expect it will be that way for some time until i get the same awareness which i developed over years of playing table tennis/ping pong.
