pad work injuries

gday people
around 3 months ago i sprained my wrist really bad doing an upper cut on the focus pads, as in i couldnt work for a week after (been training for around 6 months) i took around 2-3 weeks off training, and ever since then on the pads i cant do a hard right hook, uppercut, overhead etc because of the angle its hitting on causes an intense pain in my wrist that makes it feel like its going to go again.
has anyone out there experienced this problem, and perhaps know of any exercises to strenghten the wrist? besides jackin it haha
cheers

If you're not already wrapping your hands (and wrists of course), start doing it! That would be the cause of your injury. If you are wrapping them already, look for a better way to do it or make sure you are wrapping them tight enough (although not too tight as to cut off circulation).

I agree with the above poster.
But give us a bit more detail.
Do you wrap your hands? What kind of pain? In which area of the wrist?

Yeah I experienced it when I was new. Problem was: lack of technique (not hitting with a solid/straight wrist), and having new, soft hands

yep im wrapping my hands with proper wrapping technique. the pain goes circular around my whole wrist, like its about to jar up. im guessing the tendons or ligaments or whatever are still pretty tender from when i sprained it, maybe sprained wrists can take a long time to fully heal before i can put as much power into it as my left?

A sprained wrist can take quite a long time to heal depending on how badly you tore your ligaments. If it hurts when you do it and you are using proper form with wrapped wrists then definitely take some more time to let it heal. Uppercuts are the #1 punch I see people throwing incorrectly and did myself when I started training. Make sure you are keeping your wrist perfectly straight as nearly everyone's natural tendency is to curve it.
