What's the deal with this guy? I hear conflicting stories about his training an credentials. Some people I've heard trained with him and say he's great, but then I read a whole bunch of stuff about him being really being a TKD instructor who's a profiteer with no pro fights. Is this true?
If so, why would such great fighters like Maurice Smith and Melchor Menor train with him? I won't mention Kit Cope because I know about his BS, but Menor is an amazing kickboxer.

I saw the Fight Girls show and everyone was showing great respect to Toddy as a trainer, but then they were doing some weird-ass drills like punching apples and working out in the water with bikinis. I know it's just a show, but all the "heart of a lion spirit" stuff he was saying seemed borderline McDojo-ish. What's up with that?

I would really like to know, because he seems like such a popular trainer, but I get an eery vibe from him and people I know have been to Thailand have said some very negative things about him.

Anyone know the real story?

I know for a fact he has trained genuine champions like Ronnie Green so i think his credentials are sound

everytime i see MT talked about i usually see his face as a trainer....he even trained those guys on a MTV TRUE LIFE episode.....

i konw nothing about him tho...except he's a popular trainer....

any info guys.....

what fighters have been trained by him...?

All I know is he looks like a dirty old man, to me...

"Ok, now you girls get into these bikinis and practice overhand rights in the water while I watch...THAT will prepare you for the fights in Thailand"

........all while they cut to the girl in Thailand and she's sparring and hitting Thai Pads and stuff...

Toddy is a fraud. A glowing example of what being Asian and having a good line of bullshit can get you in America. Plus, knowing personally Fighters he employs I'll say this: The one good thing about dealing with him is you can get paid if you're not otherwise. The catch is you'll be expected to play politics.

I dont know, I keep hearing bad stories about him but he raises good fighters nevertheless, with a weird style of teaching.

4 out of the 5 girls he sent to Thailand in FIghtGirls all won by stoppage(though the American girls probably outsized Thailand girls by at least 25 pounds)

Many people who come out of Vegas always seems unsatisfied with him.

He also has this "kru" instructor program that lets you be a certified instuctor in less than a year I believe, so I guess hes good at teaching instructors

He has the Gina Carano advantage. Seriously though, I hear the 50/50. Hard to tell if its the haters who are jealous, or if he is really legit. I will lean on Kabuki for this one though since he is all knowing, and agree with him.

1) His people usually fight in Burma, not Thailand. If Thailand, usually the border near Burma. Never in the main stadiums or Lumpinee events and such.

2) It's very difficult to be considered a proper Kru, when your certification comes from someone who never has been nor ever was, a Kru.

Question....If I being a non pro fighting teacher teaches a technique that is wierd and out the norm, but is very effective and you can use it to win am I a sham?

I ask this because experience doesn't always mean no how? I honestly feel that the best fighters are never heard of and out of sight. Not making excuses for any instructor, but lets focus on the results and quality of what's being taught not always the fight history of the teacher.
