Spinning back kick

The one kick I seem to have so much trouble with, i've been in MT for about 8 months now, and its just a kick I have trouble with, it took me a while to get the jumping knee as well, but after my trainer broke it down into a "Jump straight in the air, then throw a knee when your as high as you are" it became simple.

I've been unable to attend my MT gym lately, so it's even harder for me to figure out this damn kick, I get the basic movement for it though. Anyway, could somebody brake it down for me into simpler steps?

Yeah its a tough kick to master, maybe the toughest. It requires tremendous accuracy to land and you have to throw it very tight or else you telegraph it and it can be easily picked up by your opponent.

Try starting with just a back kick without the spin.

Bring yur kicking leg straight up as high as you can.

Then drive it straight back behind you. Toes pointing down. Hit with the heel.

Bring the knee back to start and place the foot down

Remember to look over the shoulder of the side you are kcking, Right leg right shoulder

Actually if you look in Kyryllo's thread, turning the head is discouraged.

doesn't lifting the knee too much before the back kick detract from the momentum as opposed to just a slight lift and sticking the leg out?

I find it makes it much stronger, because you're in essence "loading up" the back-kick before firing. It also tends to get through more, since you're coming in a straight line instead of up and back - less tendency to get parried.

However, it's something you just gotta play around with to get a feel for what works best for you.

If you do not make eye contact with your target you have a big chance of losing balance and the target can move without you seeing them move. If you can see your target you can change the direction of the kick or abort the technique completely if your opponent moves. Throwing a "blind" tech can work from time to time but you are at great risk for a counter.

Not that I am saying Kyryllo is wrong but just a different way of doing the same tech

Not at all. The back kick has to come straight from the hip. Your hip and your foot on impact should form a staright line. Just lifting the leg will not generate any power IMO.
