He sounds like a good friend trying to fight you all the time. Real friends wouldn't want to hit you every time they see you. It sounds like you have more problems than just "sparring" - its probably time to just drop him as a friend.

spar with him again and go full strength and beat his ass into the ground. he'll probably keep making excuses even if you do that, but atleast it'll be fun

Every time I go to parties of friends and someone there knows I box...some dingus always goes "oh man, I'll spar with you." Nowadays I charge for sparring for anyone, let alone Joe Dipshit at a party. So I reply with "how much money you got in your pocket?" This confuses them. And without ever cracking a smile or giggling I keep referring to that. "I'm trying to do this for a living homie, you want to see what I can do, you gotta pay just like anyone in the Gym or at a Fight." If they turn it down they have to do so understanding that they were trying to goad you into something, that they're not willing to put their money where their mouth is.
This can end badly... Some drunk tough guy says something like "You think you're so much better than me I gotta pay? What if I JUST BEAT YOUR ASS THEN WHAT?!" Next thing you know you knock him out and get jumped.

if you want you can make it clear if it is a fight or not. there is nothing i hate more than full power sparring partners, putting yourself at risk when you're not even going full power

yes, body shots. make him puke and then tell him to stand up and fight. you're going to have to humiliate him. then you can help him up... but not before you ask him

"WHO IS THE MASTER?"

Yes I do train in Muay Thai more than anything else. But like I said, his "rules" are straight up box, no elbows, knees, etc. And I know I can break the rules but then he would have more excuses as to why he got beat.

He is a good friend. Its just he knows I train and knows I have amateur fights and feels like its funny to call me out since 90% of the time I say no. So he makes a big deal about it. Trust me, he's not a bad friend.
