Good video. What I don't understand is why you have to switch step instead of just jabbing before the low kick.

Well, technically he's planting that foot and turning it into a left cross. The jump and switch can work to throw off the opponent. Something I don't think I'd ever use personally, but I think its more of an MMA adapted strike as MMA guys typically fight at a wider range and the hop may help to close the gap. I wouldn't wanna eat an overhand right counter while my body is off the ground tho. I feel more comfortable stepping in with a stiff jab and throwing the kick. If I need some trickery to set up the jab and close the gap feinting a teep works well, but may not be the best for MMA if your opponent is trying to shoot for your legs.

Thnx for watchin fellas and for the feedback.

So yeah... I didn't make this stuff up My instructor certifications come from guys like Alex Gong, Jongsanan, Ganyao, Enn Fairtex, Bunkerd and Master Toddy. These are the guys who showed me techniques like this. But, of course....Jab, right leg kick is a staple and gets the job done 8 out of 10 times, but it depends on the opponent. Against a decent MT fighter, that ratio drops. They are certainly expecting jab, right leg kicks.

The technique in the video is great not only as a feint, but because the straight left becomes more powerful than a jab. Give it a try! These are some of the set ups we teach our fighters and they use them successfully in the ring and cage.

Payak, really don't understand what you mean when you say the right foot is angled strangley. Haven't broken my toes from a leg kick in over 14 years of training. But, love to hear how people do things differently, so again I appreciate the feedback.
