Right pinky knuckle.

WHen ever i hit the bag now i feel a pain in my right pinky finger/knuckle etc.

I wear wraps and put them on properly i can move my pinky without it being hurt.

this has been going on for about 4 weeks now i take boxing for 4 days then rest 3 then repeat i figured that on those rests it would heal up, but the pain whenever i hit the bag or anything would keep coming back.

i hold my fist tight when punching, i have always wore wraps and glvoes when sparring and training. I dont know why it's happening now and then pain is interrupting my training cause it feels quite uncomfortable.

Um...go see a doctor?

Holding your fist too tightly causes your 5th m*tacarpal to curve in due to the smallness of your little finger. That curvature, plus the fact that it is the smallest m*tacarpal in your hand, leads to it being broken rather easily. Thus we call this the "boxers fracture". These breaks are often angulated and sometimes require surgery. Typical recovery time is 6-12 weeks.

Or, it may be an extensor tendon problem (boxer's knuckle), or a bone bruise. Only a doctor can tell you these things. Go see a sports medicine doctor. Don't punch shit until you've seen him.

I had the same thing, it stopped hurting after I put on the wraps more loosely. For you, I'm not sure. See a doctor if it hurts really bad.

Maybe you putting to much presure into your pinky when you punch. Try using the first 2 knuckles once it has healed.
Try seeing a docter.
Not really sure.

The 'standard' boxing hook has a tendency to do this when it's thrown at a bad angle. Most coaches will teach you to throw the low hook(to the body) with your fist vertical so you can get the most extension. Then sometimes the boxer hears that he's supposed to 'dig up' into the body, and doesn't change the way he throws the punch.

If you're throwing the hook to the body with your fist vertical, and and going anywhere above a straight horizontal line, you should ask your coach for the proper method.

Make sure they're aware of the problem in your hands, also.

You should only be hitting with your index and middle finger knuckles, and you're probably clenching too hard.

Do this:

Make a relaxed fist with your right hand. Hold it up with the thumb side facing you so that you can see along all four knuckles. See how the knuckles are in a straight line?

Now, tighten up your fist hard. Do this a couple of times. See how your pinky knuckle moves down and out of line with the other knuckles in your hand? That is bad. You want your m*tacarpals to stay aligned and stabilized at all times. Those four knuckles need to maintain a straight line.

Wraps help stabilize the wrist and keep the bones in your hand aligned. Wraps that are too tight can pull the bones out of alignment or cut off circulation. They should be snug but not tight.

Squeezing your fist too tightly will pull the bones out of alignment AND it causes your pinky finger m*tacarpal to bend slightly, which is a double whammy. That bone is now unsupported by the other bones in your hand and has a slight bend in it which makes it much weaker and prone to injury.

Your fist should be semi-tense but not "tight". If your hands shake after a heavy bag work out this can also be a sign you are gripping too hard.

it may be because i am wrapping to tightly?

and abotu the fist clenching, i just mentioned that becausei though you guys would say maybe your not clenching your fist hard enough doing somthing to my pinky... i dont know. But i doubt it the fist clenching.

and i am sure that i am punching with my first two knuckles.
