Most annoying moments on the focus pads
Just wondering how many of you out there have had to work focus mitts with a complete moron, if so what are some of your most annoying moments.
Mine for one happened today. I was working on the mitts just working on slipping, parrying, bobbing and weaving. My partner however was a complete know it all, who just so happens to have just started boxing a few weeks ago. So I'm working on my drills and every time I go to bob the hook he angles it downwards last minute and hits my head. Every time I go to slip a jab or cross he punches where my head is moving. And when I'm working on parrying he doubles up his punches everytime. Not too mention he holds his hooks so far out that I end up throwing a cross and his uppercuts are damn near up to his forehead. Oh and to top it, every time he hits me he says " gotta be quicker or else their going to tag you everytime".

i've been boxing/thaiboxing for 18 years and whenever I hold pads for a lefty I still get confused. I just never worked with enough leftys to make it 2nd nature to hold pads for them.

I started out as a lefty at first because of my wrestling, and your right, its extremely frustrating to work pads. But come sparring time it was always fun to throw people off. I still like to use southpaw alot if the guy I'm sparring with is better than me.

I recently started training my little brother, so I feel it from both ends, hitting them and feeding them.
Feeding them: It gets incredibly annoying when the hook he throws is being smothered, and Im not sure if Im holding the mitt to close to his face, or if hes just throwing it awkward, and sometimes I just feel I cant see the things I wanna see when Im right in front of him. And Ive come to realize hitting mitts is just as much about the feeder as it is the hitter, if Im doing it awkwardly I cant expect him to look great.
Hitting them: Im southpaw, and sometimes people act completely retarded when I tell them that, like suddenly everything in the universe is out of sync, Up is now left, down is now right, in is now out, and right hands are now left!

Actually tonight I had this happen, but it was me. Me being a southpaw I always hold for righty's and tonight I had to hold for a southpaw, I was a lil confused at first to say the least. Sometimes I get mad at new guys holding pads, I don't say anything to them but just get irritated sometimes and know I really shouldn't lol.

I had this russian guy try and tell me that you aren't supposed to catch with the mits, you just leave the mit there and let them hit it. I tried to correct him to no avail.
I also hate people who keep their hands out hella wide.
I always work the pads with a southpaw so I got that down. I've even had to hold pads for two people who were switching off one southpaw the other orthodox and handled it fine, and these were drills were I was throwing back with the pads and catching counter combinations ending with kicks. I love doing padwork personally.

This! I also dislike it very much when I'm working defense in the combos and my holder donkey kongs me on top of my head because he thinks it's funny.
