Bump cause I love this kick now. Used it in timing the other day and could of rocked my opponent both times. Hopefully I get to use this in sparring

Nice tech and vid.....but.....

I find it amazing how everyone is talking about the pivot of the supporting leg. Why is this new to everyone. I have never kicked without pivoting. It is just something that I was always taught to do in ITF TKD

It also looks like the way I was taught to throw my roundhouse. Actually all my kicks come straight up then from there looking almost like a front kick. If done like this you can throw a front, round or side kick depending on what your opponent does.

That's how you were taught how to chamber in ITF? Interesting. I was always under the impression that the turning (roundhouse) kick was chambered from the side.

In shito-ryu, we learned to chamber from the front. In the style of TKD I took ( pre-ITF), it was a side chamber.
