I think it was the impact of his head on the ground that really fucked him over. But thats just me.

From what has been gathered:
One 3 minute round of Kickboxing&Muay Thai = Three 3 minute rounds of Boxing.

Max rounds in Muay thai=5 | Max rounds in Boxing=15, THEY ARE EQUAL!
