I'm totally not trying to be a dick here, but.... that's a pretty D-Bag thing to do at a regular weight lifting/fitness gym, especially Gold's (that's like holy ground to bodybuilders & meat-heads in general). Unless they have so many power racks that you could in no way ever block someone from using it as it's supposed to be used. It's like those people that use the damn bench press benches (not the independent benches) to do ab work. Same goes for the smith machine.
Imagine if someone stated doing barbell clean & presses in the middle of the jiu jitsu matted area while you and a few guys are trying to get in some extra rolling time. You'd be like "take your a** to the designated weight lifting area," right?
Sorry for my rant, there is just a lot of D-Baggery (a lot worse than that) at my gym.
