Got punched in the nose a couple of times and bled
Hi I'm new to muay thai,
I've always had a sensative nose, and would get spontaneous nose bleeds a lot, sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night with nose bleeds, because I've put pressure on my noise from sleeping in an awkward position.
I went to see the doc, and they told me it's because I have some blood vessels that burst through the walls of my nostrils, and sometimes they rupture and bleed.
It's a pain in the ass, because I don't want to get fucking nose bleeds everyt time I train.
Also on a side note, I noticed that when I get punched in the nose, I got shocked, it doesn't feel good, the head titles back, and lose composure and close my eyes.
Is this normal for a beginner, and will it go away, or am I being a pussy?

Get used to it...if you get punched square in the nose it's going to hurt and it's going to bleed.
I'm used to it, it's part of the fun

That sounds pretty normal to me. You're not supposed to enjoy getting punched in to the nose. Moving back, losing your composure and closing your eyes are natural responses that regular / consistent training helps you overcome.
As for having a sensitive nose that easily bleeds, I guess you'll just have to figure that out as you continue training.
No biggie.
Worst case, switch to a grappling / wrestling style.

Dont worry, getting punched in the nose sucks. I can be punched in the forehead and cheek all day long, but i hate getting tagged square on the nose.

One of my training partners has the same problem. Even a little tap to the nose and it bleeds. He's pretty down on himself about it, being a "bleeder" as he puts it, but not much point in worrying about it - just learn better defence.
I'm the opposite actually. I've had my nose broken more than once and there's been next to no blood. Go figure.
(edit)
Also consider getting headgear that affords you some nose protection. A lot of headgear with cheek protectors protect the nose pretty well. If that doesn't work there's always the ones with the bar across the face. I think KO Fightgear makes one, and I know Winning does as well.

I found being smashed hard in the jaw much worse, staying up till 5 am puking your guts up beats the shit out of eyes watering and nose running red. For me atleast!
My nose kept opening up every session a year back, so i stopped sparring for a while and when i came back it stopped bleeding with direct impacts or maybe i moved my head more.. not sure
I have heard rumblings though of people whos capileries are closer to the surface than others.. cant say much for its truth though..

I've found that my nose doesn't bleed as often as it used to while sparring.
*shrug*
Also consider looking into purchasing headgear with a face saver.

I am prone to the same type of bleeding. My nose will often bleed just from changes in humidity. When I first started boxing it would just bleed through every sparring session after the first jab to the nose. You just have to learn better defense. I haven't had a nose bleed in sparring for probably two months now.
