fighting EVERY week?

the gym i recently started going to has mma fights every saturday. im still pretty much a beginner(been boxing for 2 months, mma/wrestling/thai a couple weeks) although i am definately more serious about mma than the average practitioner(its all i think about). the guys who are looking to join the amateur team when it forms all pretty much fight every saturday. i guess theyre just considered exhibition matches. i was asked if i wanted to fight my first week there and im thinking about doing it this saturday. anyways im just curious as to what you guys think about this, to me its starting to feel just a little like experience>skill type thing going on in that my instructors mindset is getting in there and banging is the best way to learn. i dont neccisarily think its a bad idea i just always had the impression that people trained for months before they started fighting so i just wanted to get your guys imput

I don't recommend it, 2 months is nowhere near the amount of time needed. I've been training over a year and half and am still not quite ready for amateur boxing. I'd hold off for quite a while.

EDIT: Hell yeah motherfucker, no more piss belt for me!

i def wouldnt do it. since you've only been doing mt/mma for a couple weeks, i would highly recommend giving yourself some more time. that's just not enough time to make the fight worthwhile to where it's gonna help anything. a boxing fight after two months of boxing, that's not that unreasonable, but with mma and the ground game and not being that experience i just think more time would help a lot. good luck either way!
