I need to relax

Out of all things to work on, this is the thing everyone is telling me I need to do. "Just Relax". It's hard for me to understand. I have been training good and hard for a while now. I'm looking very good. My strikes are great, my footwork is good, I even have decent angles... but this is the one thing that my coaches are trying to get me to do and I just don't know how to do it. So... now it's #1 on my list of things to work on... any pointers?

It is about mental relaxation as much as physical. What they are essentially trying to drill into you is to be relaxed whilst fighting. Basically do not tense up as this will effect your power, speed and accuracy. Helps maintain better cardio also.

its simple

bring a lazee boy to the ring

just kidding

i see this all the time with people are just so tense when they strap on some gloves - they also tend to tire quickly because they appear to over focus - i recommend practice breathing techniques to help you calm down - still punch/kick with power and agression but it is possible without getting to tense
