To Counter a Muay Thai Clinch?

How? Just go into a boxing type clinch? Or what?

body lock to leg trip or take down (no shooting of course because of knees)...i have no real muay thai experience so i dunno....what about engaging in a thai clinch of your own and returning knees and maybe push off with a front kick or eat a knee and catch it then go for take down???

it's funny...the whole time i'm thinking about what rich could have done...

Uppercut to the balls. Over and over.

Level change and push off explosively using your palms to his chest.

This is a move I was taught at my school. Be aware that I am no MT expert myself.

1. Straighten your back explosively
2. twist to one side while bringing up your shoulder and pushing off his one arm with yours.

If he's got you so bent down that you can't straighten up, you may have to level change and pull back instead. Trying to push him off when he's controlling your weight with a firm grip on your neck won't work, he'll just go backwards as you go forward and keep hitting you with knees.

If he doesn't have you bent forward, you can always pummel for inside position on his neck, and execute a thai clinch yourself.

either post one hand on his far side knee, or grab his elbow with one hand and back of his neck with the other. explode toward the hand you have his elbow with, and trip him

wandy post his hand.

Bring your hips close to his, get high on the balls of your feet.

Elbows, but probably won't help.

"Swim" out.

X-out, put one arm across up against their kneck, the cross over in X pattern, makes him unable to look down and eventually must let go.

Fight for dominant clinch position.

Eat knees.
