Icon7 ankle wraps and heavy bags

why do some fighters wear ankle wraps??? what is the advantage and disadvantage??? Is it similar to hand wraps??? Also is it dangerous to train on a bag that is packed too solid. I recently injured my wrist throwing hooks on a very solid bag. Is it more likely from poor form or poor equipment. Thanks for the help.

when throwing kicks at those hard packed heavy bags i use only shin and don't connect with the foot

you can condition your shins that way...if the pain becomes to unberable after hittin it for a while you can switch to a softer bag and still condition your shins

i use that hard heavy bag also for fast combos with no power and also use it to work jabs(doubles and triples) whiles working on footwork

i'll move around the bag a lot circling and hittin it with jabs but don't use full power on it because i don't want to hurt my hands or my wrists

if you want to go with power punches, hit the heavy bag that is soft not the hard one

ankle wraps...never used them but i hear it gives good support

i hear they are inexpensive tho so if you want go for it and see how it fits you

one disadvantage i can think of for ankel wraps is if you are wearing them in an MMA match againts a fighter who goes for heel hooks

that might give em some good grip to crank your ankle

Any kind of fotlock for that matter. It would be a lot harder to pull out of a straight ankle lock, or hell hook, etc.

anle wraps feel cool and good when u put them on. but i have found non that work good for me lately cause they all seem to fit tight. fairtex has 2 sizes and they both fit me tight. when i kick, the flood rushes to my feet and they feel like ther'ye gunna explode, so i stop usin them, but they feel good.
