Chute Stomp put it very nicely and I couldn't agree more. Anderson has made me so happy taking out Rich with that beautiful display of Muay Thai and I know he will do to the UFC MW's what he did in Cage Rage.

This fight ruled so much. I can't stop smiling every time I think about it. Ive been telling lots of people about Anderson for so long. He just had some insane things happen to him in Pride. In Cage Rage he demolished everyone.

He looks so good and powerful in the cage. He can now take his time and is going to have at least 5 stand-ups for him to do his work. 5x5 minute rounds is perfect for him.
He did not expect silva to be so strong in the clinch.
He had absolutely no answer for that clinch.

rich v silva strategical error

i thought rich would be more cerebral and not take it to silva like he did, its like he had no real respect for what silva brought to the table; i assume he figure his size/weight adv would level out his inferior muay thai/clinchwork. Which makes some sense, but given that rich has never shown particularly good muay thai; not on the level of a silva or against an opp of silvas caliber, i just don't know why he had that thought.

I figured he would work his hands, contol the dist, show angles and stay busy to neutralize silva's speed/footwork and ability to open up w/combos and transitioning to the clinch..

instead he walked right into the clinch and basically gave silva the space/place where he is the most dominant...

Devante, we're already discussing this in the Anderson Silva thread, so I'm going to merge this in there so you can get in on the discussion.

man 2me Rich won that fight,he kept hitting silva with his face.He hit silva so hard with his nose he broke it.Since he broke hi hand in the last fight he decided2use his face this time.Silva was getting beat so bad he started doing what boxers do he was holding.HE was holding Rich all behind the head. Rich beat him so bad he tried to do a cartwheel at the end of the fight.that wasnt a knockout. See im a real fighter u have 2understand this strategy.
