I need help from the boxing glove experts

Hey guys, multiple questions so here goes. I've been boxing for several years now and have always bought the same gloves directly from my gym but now I'm interested in upgrading to something better and I need help. I've always used the same gloves for the heavy bag, drills, and sparring (without headgear) but after reading a few threads I saw that people suggest using different gloves for the bag and for sparring. Is this necessary, what are the benefits? Could somebody please give me the reasons why I would or wouldn't need two different gloves please?
Next part, which glove(s) to get. I live in Montreal and other than Rival, I don't know where I could go try on different makes and models. Does anybody know any stores on the island of Montreal or Laval where I could actually try some models on? Other than that, which model(s) do you guys recommend. I read several different reviews in these forums and there is just so many different opinions that it's hard to figure out. Some things to keep in mind though: I want a model with velcro, not laces; I'm willing to spend around $120 per pair, but I won't pay $200 for one; although I always wear wraps I still want something with good wrist support. With that in mind guys, what do you suggest? I said I don't want to spend something like $200 but if there's a glove out there for that much which is truly worth it, I may consider it. All educated opinions are welcome, thanks for the help guys.

I'm torn between the A1 and A2 and with no experience trying on vulkan I'm not sure what to get. Reason I just need the pants is because my backup gi pants disappeared while moving.

Thanks for any feedback!

Headgear for light sparring - Open face?

For light, friendly MMA sparring, for beginners - which headgear would you suggest:
Open Face
Image: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/discountmas_2081_9662940
or
More traditional with the cheek protectors

Also, would you consider it necessary to use shin pads for light sparring?

Post-Workout Rashguard Care

Hey all,

So for those that have been following my MMA Sparring Glove thread, I recently received my order for the Hayabusa MMA Hybrid Gloves, Shinguards and L/S Rashguard.

I got to use my Rashguard for the first time during my BJJ class which may I say was a PLEASURE to roll in and I was curious as to how the sherdoggers care for their rashie post workout. I have several other generic Nike s/s Rashguards but i've literally fallen in love with this one that I want to wash it and have it ready for every class if possible at least until I buy a second one to rotate in.

My initial thoughts are to handwash it in cold water and maybe add a little vinegar to kill any odors which is a trick i've learned from reading several Gi washing guides. Then, let it hang dry. If i'm missing something or if you have a tip to chime in with, please feel free to share how you keep your rashie nice and freshie.

Thanks!

did the thread get moved? i realize it was probably getting off-topic for the gear and equipment forum. however, when i searched for it all the links turned up a message saying 'invalid thread'.

perhaps this is paranoid, but did REV MMA manage somehow to bully sherdog into deleting it?

just wondering what's up, and apologies if this is somehow out of line/off topic.

Troy, aka 'in_the_ring_1' as an ebay merchant.

He sells alot of Thaismai, Windy, and Twins Special Gear on ebay. I recently contacted him through ebay messaging looking to order a bunch of Thaismai gear to sell in my pro shop.
He immediatly sent his email address, and said to email him later.

I got 9 pairs of 16oz Thaismai boxing gloves, some leather some synthetic. All great quality.
7 pairs of synthetic Thaismai shin guards (really nice foam and fit)
10 pairs of Thaismai satin thai trunks in various colors.
2 pairs of Windy satin thai trunks.
4 Twins Special teeshirts from events at Lumpinee Stadium.

I ended up spending about $450 total with him.
He shipped next day.

I am extremely happy with his customer service and quality stuff. DEFINATELY a return customer.

Anybody looking for awesome gear at cheap prices, contact Troy, 'in_the_ring_1' on ebay.

Aparently he and Boomer from Cageside went to the same "martial arts gear customer service" class.

I'm considering getting a M2M gi jacket. I've got a blazer made of sweater material that fits me perfectly, but of course it's way softer and more flexible than any gi material I've tried, so I'm thinking I might need something a bit baggier for gi material. What type of flexibility could I expect for lightweight weaves, gold weaves and double weaves?
