Has anyone (or knows anyone) that made the kettle bells that Brookfield explains how to make in the end of mastery of handstrength? The ones that are out of block weights.

I was looking into buying a couple of kettle bells, but I don't want to spend the money on them, and I don't want to get the plate loading ones so I was thinking of making these.

Anyway- my questions are, how much would a welder generally charge to weld the 2 pieces of steal and handle to the blockweight? I know that every one will probably charge different amounts, but what I'm looking for is what I guess an average price would be so I don't pay too much for it.

Also- these should hold up well enough from doing flips/tosses/etc. with them if I drop them, right? I'm sure it will be but I just want to make sure.
