Koral VT-Pro Shorts Review

Received these shorts last week from Gilberto at jiujitsuprogear.com.

First off let me say that Jiu Jitsu Pro Gear is great. I ordered a size 32 Koral VT-Pro shorts, same size as my sprawls, and found them to fit a little small (or maybe my sprawls fit a little big, I don't know). I called up Gilberto and asked to return the shorts and have a 34 shipped to me - and despite the fact that the sizing error was likely my fault (although I do wear 32 in everything else - pants, fight shorts, everything) he agreed to ship the replacement shorts to me free of charge! He was very good to deal with and I would highly recommend dealing with them.

On to the shorts. I originally ordered the jungle camo but they had run out of sizes so I ended up with the urban camo.

These shorts are very nice. They're made with thick rip-stop fabric all the way through. Although I like it, and they'll certainly be durable, the stretch fabric of the sprawls is a little more comfortable - but not much more. The seams are double stitched in most places with thick stitching, and should be good enough for regular training (although time will tell). The split on the side of the thigh is reinforced with 3 pieces of fabric. The fabric throughout is a thick rip stop. The wasteband is a well-executed velcro style, with a drawstring on the inside that goes all the way around the waist.

PROS - thick material, seem durable, comfortable, nice waist (velcro/drawstring), look great.
CONS - graphics, although well applied, will likely peel off over time (versus sprawl's stiched).

Cheers!
