After crying my eyes out again tonight.

You know, it is funny how people forget things when they have it good. It seems in America that most of the people, including me, forget things unless they are right in front of their faces. Well tonight I watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and they were running a special about Hurricane Katrina. Man, it reopened my eyes. You know here in most of our neighborhoods everything is fine. The tough things for us are long lines in the drive thru at Starbucks. But these people are still sooooo far from anything being back to normal — it is unreal.

So I wanted to try and rally the troops again, and make one more push to help some of these people out. I found three ways.

The first place was Coastal Family Health Center in Biloxi, Miss. The featured them on the show and Dr. Scott Russell has been helping low-income patients for a very long time in the community. He does not turn anyone away even if they have no insurance or money. They rebuilt an office so he could keep helping people but they have lost a lot of money from Katrina and are far from being up to par. So you can help them here it is very easy...

The second way is a link from sears who works closely with the Extreme Makeover show and his a company called NeighborWorks.

The third way might be the easiest of all. Everyone has a Sears close by their house. Starting April 2nd thru April 29th. All you have to do is go into the store and make a small donation.

Not sure if you guys watched the show or not but man this is not good. It does not seem like things like this should happen in America. If you are not in a situation where you can help, no worries. But if you can, please think about it.
