Judo
After a short warm-up, we worked on transitioning from one attempted throw or sweep to another. First we worked ouchi-gari for a little bit, then worked on comiing off a failed ouchi-gari and transitioning to kouchi-gari. Pretty basic stuff, but, hey, I am a newb! Then we worked harai-tsurikomi-ashi. I got it down pretty well after a few tries and got slammed hard at one put. I landed bad, and my left knee is still a little tender today (Wednesday). WAAHHH!
Anyway, we then worked aon transitioning from harai-tsurikomi-ashi, uke lifts their foot and steps back to avoid the sweep, but tori off-balances them and throws with harai-goshi. I like that throw a lot.
Then the black belt I was working with showed me tai-otoshi. I'd done this throw before, when I was taking Aiki at my first karate dojo, but they showed it differently. Probably because they didn't know what the heck they were doing in the first place.
After working stand up for a while, we did some basic self defense, Goshi Jitsu. I was pretty familiar with these, as we did a lot of it when I was taking Goshin Ryu karate.
9:30pm
Got home from judo and was pretty hungry, so I fixed myself a bowl of cereal:
Bowl of Special K with skim milk & a banana
1 Omega-3 Complex pill
3 Glucosamine/MSM pills
