I'm of a similar background to yourself, I've always been big and overweight since I can remember, I've always been talented at sports but at the same time I had no cardio but good athleticism.
At the age of 18 when I weighed around 265lbs I lost my job and went into a slum of depression for a good 2.5yrs, not working and just playing computer games and eating. During that time I balooned up to around 330lbs and stayed right around that 330 mark until the beginning of this year when I decided to change my habbits.
I'm 6ft4 and I currently weigh 280lb but I don't feel as fat as I did at 265, due to height changes and muscle changes. I lost the majority of this weight through good diet and hightened activity. I currently now go to the gym 2-3 times a week and kayak with my girlfriend 2-3 times a week. I'm hoping to start BJJ this Monday with an old school friend, 4 hours an evening 3 times a week.
Just keep your head up and keep plowing through, eventually you will reep the benefits of your efforts and eventually be the happiest you've been, as you appreciate it so much after being so low.
